Responsibilities:
Operates Point of Sale system, assists the Chef, prepares coffee, and keeps the coffee and cashier stations clean; helps prepare USA foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods and desserts; also helps prepare catering orders; performs cashier duties using the POS system; perform general cleaning duties; removes trash and garbage to designated areas; provides service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving; cashiers according to established procedures, maintaining cash accuracy with receipts; makes deposits at the end of each shift; inventories and restocks supplies and food products; sets up serving line, ensuring temperatures are taken, recorded and within acceptable ranges; notifies cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits; serves hot and cold items to customers; sets up items for purchase on daily basis; keeps refrigerator stocked and product rotated using the first in, first out rule; stocks pantries with correct par levels of food items on a daily basis; records replenished amounts on floor stock form for each unit; records refrigerator temperatures on floor stock form daily; responsible for Patient USA Food Service; build deliver and pick up trays to assigned floors; takes meals and beverages orders from patients; reports to Supervisors and Director of Food & Nutrition; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Receives verbal/written assignments from RN/LPN; assists patients with Activities of Daily Living; reports any changes in patient condition to USA RN/LPN; maintains clean and neat stocked areas and patient rooms; cleans equipment between each patient use; operates unit equipment as required; runs unit errands as needed; assists with and accompanies patients on admission, discharge, and transfer; answers patient call lights promptly; keeps hallway clear of equipment; distributes water and ice; maintains 24-hour urine collections; USA performs catheter checks and blood glucose monitoring; takes and records vital signs and weight; records accurate intake and output (to include NG, chest tube, ostomy bags, foley, etc.); signs/initials USA documentation; documents patient turns and repositioning; reports any skin condition to RN; assists with completion of daily flow sheet; responds to overhead pages; participates in orientation of new employees as assigned; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; regular and prompt attendance; USA ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Summary:
Under general supervision of the Manager of Volunteer and Customer Services and within USA hospital and department policies and procedures greets assists and directs visitors patients and other callers/visitors to the hospital.

Responsibilities:
Maintains established department policies procedures objectives quality assurance safety and USA environmental control.

Proactively greets and assists all patients visitors and vendors in a warm and welcoming manner ensuring exceptional customer service. USA Conducts approved screening process with all and assists and directs to various locations in the hospital and/or building; calls for an escort when necessary.

Uses technology to print out personalized patient/visitor labels and ensures all coming into the hospital have the appropriate badge.
Acts as a liaison between patients visitors and guests and any hospital USA department.
Answers telephone and uses appropriate telephone techniques and proper identification. Responsible for transferring calls to patient room nursing stations or finding appropriate department.
Provides clear directions and assistance to patients and visitors including directions for parking wheelchair assistance and locations of telephones rest rooms and hospital departments. Provides room numbers of patients.

Operates computer terminal to retrieve USA patient room numbers/extensions admissions and discharges. Protects patient privacy for those who choose to be “restricted” from the patient directory.

Accept packages from staff physicians etc. for pick up by internal/external customers; monitor the signing process on the USA Parcel Pickup Log; call the internal USA department to notify them of the delivery; require a signature when the parcel is picked up. Verify the patient room numbers for floral delivery.
Maintain awareness and oversight for activity in the main lobby.
Preserves and protects confidentiality of information.
Attends in-service and educational programs. Attends and participates in-staff meetings.
Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Performs other related duties as required.

Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
High School diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of computer keyboard.

The position needs to have exceptional customer service skills as well as the ability to multitask and deal with the USA public. The person should be kind empathetic professional responsible and willing to learn.
Bilingual preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability to interact with patients visitors and all levels of USA hospital staff.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including empathy compassion warmth and kindness.
Three to four months of related experience including on-the-job training to become familiar with the hospital campus department services and procedures specific to areas served.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires standing bending and sitting. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common office equipment.

While most duties are performed in an office environment incumbent is exposed to USA patient-care environment. Any risk of exposure to contagious or noxious elements is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and protocols.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Incumbent functions independently within broad scope of department USA policies and practices.

Generally refers specific problems to supervisor only where USA clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required.

None.
