Adam Sandler Daughters

Adam Sandler is a father of two.

The actor and his wife, Jackie Sandler, first became parents in 2006 with the arrival of Sadie.

"[Fatherhood's] fun. It's great," he said shortly after his first daughter was born. "I love that kid ... I was dying to do it."

Sadie's little sister, Sunny, joined the family in late 2008, and since then, the Sandlers have kept a low profile. Still, they have appeared in several of their father's films over the years, including his 2020 Netflix movie, Hubie Halloween. But it wasn't until 2023 that they landed starring roles.

Netflix's You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah follows seventh-grade student Stacy (Sunny) as she plans her dream bat mitzvah amid a rift with her best friend, while her mom (Idina Menzel) and sister (real-life sibling Sadie) encourage her to make peace. To round out the family affair, the movie also stars Adam as Stacy's father and Jackie as a woman named Gabi.

More recently, Sunny and Sadie joined their dad in Netflix's Happy Gilmore 2 — and made quite the impression on the film's director, Kyle Newacheck, who said they were "very good at acting."

"It just makes me excited to see what they're going to come up with in the next 10 years, if they're going to follow their father's footsteps and be committed to this family business," he said. "They're all very talented and it's awesome watching them work."From their early years out of the spotlight to their starring Netflix roles, here's everything to know

Adam and Jackie welcomed their first daughter, Sadie Madison Sandler, on May 6, 2006.

Shortly after her arrival, the comedian joked to reporters about his newborn's lack of focusing skills. "Every time I think the kid likes me [while I'm playing with and talking to her], I'm like, 'Oh, she's staring at my forehead," he cracked.

When Sadie was 14 months old, her dad told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show that he had "dethroned" Jackie as the little girl's favorite person.

"We're very tight with this child – everything we do is about the kid, and the kid now all of the sudden worships me. It was my wife the whole time and then the last month or two, it's all Sandler. It's like anything I do, the kid wants to do," he joked.

At a young age, Sadie started accompanying her father on set, making her first on-screen appearance in his 2008 movie, You Don't Mess with the Zohan. That same year, she had a small role in Adam's film Bedtime Stories, in which the actor plays an uncle whose tall bedtime tales stir up trouble for his niece and nephew.

While promoting the movie, Adam admitted that the plot hit a little close to home, as his nightly bedtime story ritual often had a reverse effect on Sadie.

"I'm not great at the bedtime stories," he said. "The bedtime stories are supposed to put the kid to sleep, [but] my kid gets riled up."about Adam and Jackie Sandler's two daughters, Sadie and Sunny.

Adam and Jackie welcomed their second daughter, Sunny Madeline Sandler, on Nov. 2, 2008.

Adam announced Sunny's birth on his website, calling the family's latest addition "beautiful" and adding that "everyone is happy and healthy."

Like her older sister, Sunny has appeared in several of her father's movies, including Grown Ups, Blended and Murder Mystery. After accumulating over a dozen acting credits from Adam's projects, however, it appears that both Sunny and Sadie are ready to strike out on their own.

"I hear sometimes in the house, 'I wanna be in a movie' and I say, 'You are, you were in this, this and this' and they go, 'Not yours.' I go, 'Oh, Daddy's not good enough!' " Adam said on The Drew Barrymore Show. "They wanna do their own thing one day."

In addition to her acting roles, Sunny also has a passion for singing. In June 2019, she performed a song from The Greatest Showman onstage during one of Adam's comedy shows. After a sweet introduction from her father, Sunny belted out "A Million Dreams," earning her a huge applause and a standing ovation from the crowd.

Sunny accompanied her dad onstage again that October during a charity performance, where she and Sadie joined Adam in singing a rendition of Taylor Swift's "Lover," which the comedian described as "one of their favorite songs.""We're gonna sing a song! They've been so excited and nervous, but we're gonna sing a song," Adam told the crowd. "They saw Taylor Swift last night, we were at Saturday Night Live. That was a big night, man. Taylor Swift — holy s—."After the girls drew a standing ovation, Adam thanked the crowd for "being so nice to them," adding, "They were dying to be a part it. Girls, you did great! Sounded awesome — confident and cool. I love you, now get out of here."For Sunny's bat mitzvah in May 2022, Adam again turned to his celebrity friends to make the party extra special. The star-studded bash was attended by his previous costars Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Lautner, and included performances from Charlie Puth and Halsey.

Halsey later discussed the party during an appearance on The Tonight Show. "First of all, it was the craziest bat mitzvah I've ever seen in my life," the singer told Jimmy Fallon. "As you would expect from Adam Sandler. It was like… I mean, it was like Coachella."

Sunny was seemingly pleased by the party's A-list guest list — and the attention that came with it. After a TikTok user shared a video from the bash, which showed several celebrity attendees posing with a giant Smarties candy package, Sunny summed up the event with a one-worded comment: "Viral."

A few months later, Sunny and her sister had another viral moment when their father received the Film Tribute Award at the 2022 Gotham Awards. Instead of going the traditional route, he allowed his daughters to write his acceptance speech.

"They were like, 'Can we write your speech so you've got something to say?' I said, 'Absolutely! It would be nice to see you doing something other than watching YouTube or going to f------ Lululemon every f------ weekend,' " Adam teased on stage before going on to read the speech his girls prepared for him, which included several hilarious jabs at their father.

The proud dad ended his speech on a sentimental note, thanking his wife and daughters for being a part of his journey.

Hollywood is filled with famous families who follow in the footsteps of their parents, but there’s something refreshing about a certain subset of nepo babies that include the children of famous comedians. Case in point, the kids of Adam Sandler and wife Jackie – their two daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler.

Now 19 and 16 years old (respectively) in 2025, Sandler’s daughters are more than familiar with red carpets and film sets, having grown up in the world of their comedy giant dad.

But far from just quiet observers, they’ve also shared the screen with both of their parents on multiple occasions; most recently in the long-awaited sequel to ’90s cult classic, Happy Gilmore 2.

While Sandler’s youngest daughter, Sunny, played a leading role in the sequel, his eldest, Sadie, also joined the long list of celebrity cameos that we couldn’t stop thinking about.

And their performance in Happy Gilmore 2 isn’t the first time we’ve seen them on screen, with both enjoying a growing number of credits between them, suggesting they’re more than capable of following in their parents’ footsteps (Jackie is also an actor and former model).

Here, everything we know about Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sadie and Sunny.

Who Are Adam Sandler’s Daughters?
Jackie and Adam Sandler’s eldest daughter, Sadie Madison Sandler was born on 6 May 2006.

When Sadie was a toddler, Sandler told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show that he had “dethroned” his wife from the position of his daughter’s favourite person.

“We’re very tight with this child – everything we do is about the kid, and the kid now all of the sudden worships me. It was my wife the whole time and then the last month or two, it’s all Sandler. It’s like anything I do, the kid wants to do,” he said.

On 2 November 2008, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Sunny Madeline Sander.

According to Sandler, his wife announced the pregnancy in a very sweet way.

“I came home at night and [Jackie] kept saying ‘Sadie wants to give you a present,’ and normally Sadie falls asleep around 8[pm]. It was like quarter past 9 and I just got back from working,” he said during an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly.

“And then Sadie hands me a little something, like a gift. And I was ‘Aww, that’s nice Sadie, thank you.’ And then Jackie kept saying ‘Open it up, open it up.’ And I open it up and it was one of those pregnancy [tests] and I was like ‘Woowww.'”

Despite having impressive screen credits already, both Sadie and Sunny Sandler have grown up relatively out of the spotlight. So fans were shocked at how much they resembled Adam Sandler when they joined him at the premiere of Murder Mystery 2 in March 2023, which he starred.

It was the first time his daughters had joined him on the red carpet for a while, with both teenagers more grown up and even more like their famous father as their public appearances become more frequent.

In 2025, the family has continued its acting legacy, coming together for Happy Gilmore 2 in the best way possible. A true family affair, Sandler’s two daughters and wife appear in the film. His youngest daughter, Sunny, plays his on-screen daughter, his wife, Jackie, as her dance teacher, and his eldest daughter making an appearance in his AA meetings.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the New York premier Netflix comedy special Adam Sandler: Love You, the comedian revealed that his daughters are starting to look after him in a similar way he cared for his own dad.

“They always look out for me and my health just like I used to with my dad,” Sandler says. “You go, ‘Man, I want this guy around,’ so I used to scream at my dad to quit smoking, and my kids scream at me to just calm down and try to eat a little more like a normal person.”

He’s also previously spoken about Sadie saying he should work with the personal trainer he had for 2008 movie You Don’t Mess with the Zohan. But he also said he told her “it’s a lot of work”.

So far, Jackie and Adam Sandler have kept details about their daughters – including their online presence – to a minimum. Adam, however, isn’t afraid to share anecdotes about his life and kids.

In 2019, during an appearance on USA Sandler spoke about watching eldest daughter Sadie grow up, telling DeGeneres that the teenager was starting to talk about boys. (Sadie Sandler was around 13 years old at the time).

“You know, I drive around with [her and] her friends and I hear them talking about boys now … it’s amazing, the feelings I had about the same boys five years ago. When they would mention the kid’s name, I’d be like, ‘I love that kid.’ Now, I get very jumpy,” he joked.

With two parents in showbiz, it’s no surprise the Sandler kids’ first big project was a family affair.

Sandler’s film, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah, stars his real-life kids Sadie and Sunny as

The film follows seventh grade student Stacy (Sunny Sandler), as she plans her dream bat mitzvah, which is threatened by drama between her and life-long best friend Lydia. Meanwhile, Stacy’s mum (Idina Menzel) and sister (real-life sister Sadie Sandler) encourage her to make peace with her friend.

The Sandler parents, Adam and Jackie, also have roles in the movie – Adam plays Stacy’s father, while Jackie Sandler plays Lydia’s mother, Gabi.

You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah wasn’t the first project either Sadie or Sunny have worked on. Details on IMDb.com reveal Sadie Sandler got her first credit back in 2008, when she was just two years old. Sunny followed in her big sister’s footsteps, with her first credit in 2010 when she was also around two years old.

In 2024, Sunny Sandler had a role in Spaceman, while Sadie Sandler can be heard as the voice of “Summer” in animated film Leo.

Sunny was also credited as “Greek 13 Year Old Girl” in the 2022 drama Hustle, which Adam Sandler starred in and produced. In 2025 the young actors’ starring and supporting roles in Happy Gilmore 2 prove that big things are on the horizon for the talented pair.

Happy looked over at Charlotte and asked, “Yeah?” The pair then shared a sweet and knowing smile.

Sadie isn’t the only member of Adam’s family who snagged a role in the comedy’s sequel. Adam’s 16-year-old daughter, Sunny Sandler, had a major part in the movie, as she played his daughter, Vienna. Adam’s wife, Jackie Sandler, also had a cameo as Vienna’s dance teacher.

In Happy Gilmore 2, Happy struggled personally following the death of his wife, Virginia Venit, who is portrayed by Julie Bowen. Happy — who also shares four sons with Virginia — couldn’t find his love for the sport of golf following Virginia’s passing. He ultimately lost their home, and his sons had to take on menial jobs to support themselves.

After learning that Vienna has the chance to attend a prestigious ballet school in Europe, Happy decided that he wants to give the sport another try to help make his daughter’s dreams come true.

Ahead of Happy Gilmore 2’s release, Adam opened up about what it was like to work.

Like many of Adam Sandler’s recent movies, Happy Gilmore 2 is a Sandler family affair. Both Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler, and his wife, Jackie Sandler, are featured in the movie. No one can ever say the Sandman doesn’t take care of his family!

The sequel to the 1996 hit comedy Happy Gilmore finds Sandler’s character down on his luck, to put it mildly. After accidentally killing his wife with a golf ball, Happy is a depressed, broke, alcoholic struggling to provide for his five children. He definitely can’t pay for the fancy ballet school for his talented daughter, Vienna… unless he returns to the game that killed his wife.

At its heart, Happy Gilmore 2 is about family. So it makes sense that—in addition to a lot of other celebrity cameos—Sandler opted to cast his real family in the film. Sandler’s younger daughter, Sunny, play’s Happy’s on-screen daughter Vienna, the aspiring ballet dancer. While Julie Bowen plays Happy’s deceased on-screen wife, Sandler’s actual wife, Jackie Sandler, also appears in Happy Gilmore 2 in a few brief scenes, as the ballet instructor for Happy’s

Sandler’s older daughter, Sadie, plays a young woman named Charlotte that Happy meets in Alcoholics Anonymous, who helps him on his sobriety journey. The two share a cute moment at the end of the movie, in which Charlotte tells Happy that he reminds her of her father.

Sandler has a long history of family cameos in his movies.  Jackie has appeared in over 30 of her husband’s films, and their daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler, have appeared in over 20 of his films.

Recently, Sunny in particular has been taking on more significant roles in her father’s films—like her heartwarming performance as the lead in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and now this lead role in Happy Gilmore 2.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Sandler spoke about what it meant to him to work with his daughters on camera. ” It is just all happening fast,” Sandler said. “Kids are growing up − they really are into acting and movies, and it’s always been our thing to work with our friends and family. It’s cool to see them getting better. They work hard, and they go to school for it, and they love it. So, yeah, I’m just proud. Couldn’t love them more.”
